Chateau D' Esclans
After acquiring a wealth of experience working for some of the greatest names in the wine world, Paul Chevalier will guide you through the Rosé Lifestyle of St.-Tropez with Château D'Esclans.
Educated in winemaking and viticulture at the University of Reims and the University of Bordeaux, he went on to acquire his practical knowledge of wine at Château Margaux, making wine at the side of Paul Pontallier and later in Burgundy with Louis Latour at the Château Corton Grancey estate in Aloxe-Corton.
For the LVMH group, Paul was the youngest member of the winemaking team at Champagne Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin in Reims heading up their Grand Cru Pinot Noir production. Has later became the technical advisor for Cape Mentelle in Australia and Cloudy Bay in New Zealand. From Champagne, Paul returned to Bordeaux for the Chateau & Estates/Seagram group with Barton & Guestier until joining the House of Calvet as Winemaker & Export Director for North & South America.
Throughout his winemaking career in France, Paul has continued to share his passion for wine as he traveled extensively conducting seminars and wine tastings in over 60 countries around the world.
Today, Paul works Sacha Lichine and Patrick Léon (former winemaker for Château Mouton-Rothschild, Opus One, and Viña Almaviva) in the development of the 4 unique rosés from the Château D'Esclans estate. Château D'Esclans is a prestigious estate and winery in Provence, France producing some of the finest and top-selling rosé wines in the world. The portfolio includes four premium wines that epitomize the classic rosé style of Provence. In 2017, Château D’Esclans celebrates its 10th anniversary vintage of its flagship Whispering Angel under the leadership of Sacha Lichine, who has elevated these wines to the premium, prestigious level he envisioned for Provence rosé.
