Join Cruz Bilbro, ten-year-old son of Jake and Alexis Bilbro of Limerick Lane Vineyards, as you hear his story of generosity and entrepreneurship. At an early age and growing up among the vines, Cruz is following his father’s footsteps in learning the intricate craftsmanship of winemaking. Cruz’s special first blend was made with love and enthusiasm for the process. From tending to the vines and watching the grapes grow, he finished with harvesting the grapes and crush. It has been important to Cruz and the Bilbro family to teach philanthropy and give back to their community to support the lives of children in need. It was during a tasting at Limerick Lane for AldenAlli’s Zinfandel that Cruz had a chance encounter with Chef Emeril and Alden and gained his first business partner. Chef Emeril purchased Cruz’s first finished bottle, and it sparked a philanthropic partnership that they knew could make a difference. This Grenache is named “Too’s Babor,” which is how Cruz introduced himself when he was too young to pronounce his name. He designed the label after his favorite farm tractor. In Cruz’s words, “Emeril Lagasse came to my farm and gave me a hundred bucks, and now we are partners and I am thankful for it. I gave him a barrel of my wine and we are going to help a school somewhere.” Please join our foundation in helping Cruz sell his first barrel of wine as we auction off these unique bottles!
