It’s all in the family as you’re welcomed into Chef Emeril and Alden’s New Orleans home for a dynamite dinner not soon to be forgotten! As you become Chef Emeril’s newest sous chef for the evening, assist in preparing a family style meal of the Gulf Coast’s finest cuisine. If you pay close attention, you may even pick up some of his culinary secrets! After putting the final touches on the dishes, you and five of your lucky friends will gather around the Lagasse family table to taste the fruits of your labor. But what shall you pour? Leave that to Emeril Lagasse Foundation board member and legendary winemaker Dan Kosta who will be joining in the fun. Dan and Alden will open their latest pinots from AldenAlli, a collaboration between the Lagasse and Kosta families. At the table, Dan will also finally open the rare five liter of Kosta Browne’s “2011 Wine of the Year” as rated by Wine Spectator. The bottle, described as “in 2009 the greatest vintage yet for California Pinot,” was crafted by Dan and comprises fruit from three vineyards: Gap’s Crown, Terra de Promissio and Walala Vineyard. Dan created this custom-etched bottle when he was Carnivale du Vin’s 2011 Honorary Bacchus. It features Alex Beard’s iconic “Ole Leggi” image from the inaugural year of Boudin, Bourbon & Beer.
