Join Chef Emeril Lagasse, Mark McWilliams of Arista Winery and the culinary team of Emmer & Rye, 2019 James Beard Award Finalist, for a garden dinner in the name of inspiration, mentorship and success. Cunningham Elementary is the newest site for Emeril Lagasse Foundation’s signature program, Emeril’s Culinary Garden & Teaching Kitchen. Cunningham Elementary is a pre-K through fifth grade public school serving over 400 students with diverse backgrounds. With a five-year grant from the Emeril Lagasse Foundation to the Austin Ed Fund, Cunningham Elementary School will enhance its current gardening program and construct a 1,500 sq. ft. teaching kitchen. In this space, students’ imaginations and minds will be activated when they interact with the food they have grown using the program’s curriculum which features more than 100 of Chef Emeril’s recipes modified for the classroom. On this inspiring evening, visit the garden, then enjoy as Chef Kevin Fink of Emmer & Rye creates an unforgettable meal centered around the farm to table items grown by Cunningham Elementary students. Arista’s Mark McWilliams will present his pairing for each course with hand-selected wines from his Russian River Valley property, founded in 2002 by his parents, Texas natives, Al and Janis McWilliams.
