  • Lot 11 - Inaugural Vintage from Bob Cabral

Tonight, we present the first ever vintage of world-renowned winemaker Bob Cabral’s namesake wine in large format, of which only 3 were created. Bob’s Troubadour is the ultimate paradox. The grapes chosen for this wine were specific clones from vineyards in his familiar territory, the Russian River Valley. While many perceive the area as hot, he sourced from some of the cooler parts of the appellation. He tells the story of these unique vineyards through the crisp acidity, wonderful flavors and rich tannins that this coolness creates.

Bob describes this bottling as “the way I believe it should be made, without apologies, no holds barred. The enjoyment experience of wine is a very personal thing that can be altered easily by any one of our senses. It always tastes better when we are having fun with close friends, listening to our favorite bands, or sitting at the top of a mountain. With this wine, hopefully I’ve found that ‘wave’ that will connect us.” With many years of experience making great Pinot Noir from Sonoma, Bob’s vision for his own wine label was to create a platform to give back.

Art and wine lovers unite! You may associate artist and friend of the foundation Alex Beard with his iconic “For the Love of the Pig” piece that has become the staple image of Boudin, Bourbon & Beer. More recently, his talented hand crafted “For the Love of the Sailfish” for our inaugural Line, Vine & Dine last year. Alex is known for his “abstract naturalism,” as he’s coined the phrase, and he travels around the world for inspiration for his work. For tonight, he has graciously created an original piece featuring the very theme of our event, expressing “The Wonderful World of Wine.” Not only can you own an original piece from Alex, but you’ll have the rare opportunity to visit with him (among 19 of your closest friends) with an exclusive private event inside his new Magazine Street gallery. Emeril Lagasse Foundation will take care of all artfully inspired cuisine and top shelf libations as you browse his beautiful gallery and hear tales of his adventures from conservation safaris in Africa.
